The Community and Relationship Development Team develop and foster relationships within the community and corporate sector to promote inclusion and participation of children with disabilities and learning disadvantages, enhancing our client service delivery.
Advocates for children with special needs
Collectively working to raise the awareness of people with disabilities within the community, the Community and Relationships Team coordinate a range of programs and initiatives to support our clients, helping them feel accepted and valued in the community.
The Community and Relationship Development Team conduct the following to ensure our clients needs are fulfilled:
- Inclusion and Participation program
Therapy Focus' Inclusion and Participation Program was developed in response to client and families interests for more meaningful activities for children with special needs to participate in the community. The Inclusion and Participation Team provide direct support to families, local sporting and recreation organisations, and the community to ensure children with special needs are better supported and included in community activities.

- Projects and Grants
The Projects and Grants Team prepare and lodge Government and non-Government submissions with the aim of securing additional funding for programs and initiatives which aim to better support and promote inclusion of children with special needs in the community.

- Community Education Program, Sunny's Roadshow
Accompanied by Therapy Focus mascot, Sunny the Sunflower, members of the Community and Relationships Development Team visit Perth metropolitan schools conducting presentations which help children understand disability and promote inclusion and acceptance.

- Community events and activities
Therapy Focus actively participate in and coordinate community events and activities to raise awareness of Therapy Focus and the children and young people we work with.

- Communications
Regular communication via our newsletter, website and through the media, ensure our stakeholders are kept abreast of important information and help inform the wider community.
